Bosque Del Cabo is a luxurious rainforest retreat on the isolated Osa Peninsula in Costa Rica. We arrived into the tiny airport at Puerto Jimenez and were picked up for our one hour drive to the resort. We stayed in a deluxe cabina, which had an amazing view over the Pacific Ocean as it was situated on the edge of a cliff. There was wildlife all around the lodging area, from the Toucans and Coatimundis eating the fruit in the trees, to the hummingbirds drinking nectar near the eating area, to the howler monkeys setting up camp 5 metres  from our front door. There are paid activities that you can take part in, which we thought were quite expensive. However there are plenty of free things to do. You can walk down to the deserted tropical beach and spend the day, taking a packed lunch with you if you want. From the beach you can see scarlet macaws in the trees and pelicans gliding over the ocean. However the activity I enjoyed the most was walking the plentiful trails, especially the more remote Titi trail. I spent most of the time either walking the trails or just hanging out near the fruit trees. There is so much wildlife around. We saw 3 types of monkey; Squirrel, Howler and Spider, a Sloth, a collaraed anteater, lots of birds and most exciting of all a Puma.

This place is luxurious enough to take your wife to yet remote enough to provide fantastic wildlife photography opportunities.
